Student Success Specialist, Guided Study Groups Math & Systems Coordinator

Annette serves as the Guided Study Groups Math & Systems Coordinator at Penn State Learning. In this role, she supports the development and coordination of the Guided Study Group (GSG) program, working closely with GSG leaders to provide training, ongoing professional development, observation, and feedback. She helps leaders develop effective facilitation, questioning, and collaborative learning strategies designed to create engaging learning environments and support student success.

Annette also collaborates with instructors and academic departments to strengthen coordination between Penn State Learning and the courses it supports. Her work includes program planning, developing resources and training materials, supporting GSG operations and technology, and using participation and program data to inform decision-making and improve the GSG experience for both leaders and students.

Annette brings 19 years of experience teaching secondary mathematics to her work at Penn State. She began her career teaching high school mathematics at Junction City High School and Manhattan High School in Kansas before relocating to Pennsylvania, where she taught at Bermudian Springs School District and Bald Eagle Area School District.

Annette earned a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. Ed. in Secondary Mathematics Education from Pittsburg State University. She earned her M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Kansas State University.
