Teresa Burkhart, M.Ed.

Education Program Specialist

As Education Program Specialist, Teresa assesses the data needs of Penn State Learning and other academic support units, streamlines data entry, integrates data collection, conducts data analyses, and builds related reports and dashboards. Teresa also serves as the Starfish Tenant Administrator to Penn State’s undergraduate learning and academic support professionals at all colleges and campuses. Her goals are to build consistency in technologies that connect students to learning and writing center services and to assist staff in their use of existing systems to manage the scheduling and assessment of services. In addition, Teresa coordinates the Study Smarter workshop program, a peer-tutor-led workshop on recommended research-based learning strategies and general study skills for new and transfer students.  

Teresa is a Penn State University alumna.  She earned a B.S.S. from Penn State and went on to earn a M.Ed. from Kutztown University.  Upon graduating from Kutztown, she was awarded the Dr. Frank A. Bucci Outstanding Student Affairs Graduate Award and was a member of Alpha Epsilon Lambda National Honor Society.

Teresa began her career in higher education as the Coordinator of the Women’s Center at Kutztown University.  She then worked as an Academic Counselor at Harrisburg Area Community College, Lebanon Campus.  Teresa later returned to Penn State to work as the Academic Support Specialist in the Center for Academic Achievement at Penn State’s Schuylkill Campus for 12 years prior to beginning her position at Penn State Learning.
