GSG Employment - Fall 2018

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Guided Study Group leader! We currently have openings for Fall 2018 Guided Study Group Leaders in CHEM 210 and STAT 200. If you are interested, please email Emily Hobbs at with a brief statement of interest and which courses you would be able to support.

*GSG sessions have ended for the 2017-2018 school year. We look forward to seeing you back on campus in August 2018!*

Guided Study Groups (GSG) are offered for a select number of courses on the University Park campus.  Several of the GSG courses are high enrollment and are taken by first- and second-year students.  GSG leaders are hired to provide out of class academic support for those who wish to meet their peers and study in a safe and welcoming learning environment.

GSG leaders are undergraduate students who have previously taken and met success in the course. The leaders are trained to host/facilitate two or three free study sessions each week throughout the semester and will help you master the course content through problem-solving, collaborative learning and study skills strategies.  Also, the GSG leaders attend your course lectures to remain current with the material and experience the class just as you do.  Although your GSG leader may not attend your specific lecture time you are welcome to attend the sessions and you can attend as often as you’d like.  Bring your questions and be prepared to work in a group environment.

Free GSG study sessions are available weekly for several courses in the following subject areas:
