Drop-In Tutoring

Drop-In Tutoring

Drop-In tutoring is one of the most popular ways to see a Penn State Writing Tutor and have a conversation about your writing assignments. If you are hesitant to select a particular time or appointment slot or prefer the idea of stopping by when there's a break in your schedule then drop-in tutoring might just be the thing for you!

How does it work?

Drop-in tutoring is pretty simple. All our daytime writing tutoring happens in 220 Boucke or The Search Bar (in Pattee Library's Sidewater Commons). To get tutoring through drop-in hours, all you need to do is swing by 220 or the Search Bar and sign in. Shortly thereafter, a writing tutor on duty will assist you. It's as easy as that!

Because most writing tutoring sessions are thirty minutes in length and we only have a limited number of tutors on duty at any one time, it's possible that during drop-in hours you'll experience a short wait before a tutor becomes available to help. We are busiest during peak semester times like finals and midterms, so if you're short on space in your schedule and want to guarantee that you'll be seen at a particular time we do recommend scheduling an appointment.
